The Government today lowered the Outbound Travel Alert for Sri Lanka to amber in view of the country’s latest situation.

It further advised residents planning to visit Sri Lanka or already there to exercise caution, attend to personal safety, avoid crowded places, and heed announcements by local authorities.

The Security Bureau will monitor the situation and issue updates through the media, its app and website.

Travellers who need assistance can call the Immigration Department’s hotline (852) 1868 or the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka at (94) 11-2676033.
