MPs debate two petitions about proroguing Parliament

The Petitions Committee has decided to postpone the debate schedule for 9 September on petitions relating to animal sentience and ending caging for farmed animals. This is because of uncertainty over the prorogation of Parliament. The Committee will announce a new date for debates on these petitions as soon as possible.

In place of this debate, the Committee has decided to hold a single debate on two petitions relating to proroguing Parliament. This is because the Committee wanted to ensure they could be debated at the only potential opportunity before the planned prorogation.
