The Polytechnical Museum to the city Day have prepared a festive program for children and adolescents. Participants enjoy a science show, “How to see sound?”, discussion about the Internet and tours of the exhibition “Russia makes itself”. All events will be held in pavilion No. 26 at VDNKH.

Science show “How to see sound?”

Science show organized by the “University of children”, scientific — educational project of the Museum, it will be interesting to guests aged seven to 10 years.

The show starts at 12:00. Together with physicist Mikhail Annenkov, participants will draw on sand and paper, to control fire and water as well as arrange a laser show. They will learn how sound travels as waves, a scientist will tell whether these waves to pass through walls, why from the sound shaking the thorax, and ultrasound sick.

Participation is free, for pre-registration.

Discussion “the Internet is (not) know about me?”

For adolescents 11-14 years of “University kids” at 14:00 organizes a discussion about the Internet. Researcher Polina Colocarei talk about chat rooms, blogs, pages and forums about how virtual communities help to get to know people and to understand yourself, how to conduct online investigation and what results to expect.

On 7 and 8 September will be free tours of the exhibition “Russia makes itself”. In the exposition — unusual development of Russian scientists. Visitors learn to play a musical instrument without touching it, can the computer run on water, what is common between the atomic bomb and emojis and what is better to build a house on the moon.

Children will be able to play the theremin — an unusual electromagnetic musical instrument invented in the USSR in 1920, and see plantigrade machine of the last century.

What is the “University of children”

“University kids” — a unique educational project for children and adolescents seven to 14 years. Children are involved in research with scientists in the laboratories of leading Russian universities — National research University “Higher school of Economics”, faculty of biology, Moscow state University named after M. V. Lomonosov, Russian chemical-technological University named by D. I. Mendeleev, Moscow state pedagogical University, Russian state humanitarian University and others. The main goal of the project is to teach students to think for themselves, find answers, to explore.

The new school year in the “University of children” will begin on September 22. The first semester will end on December 22. Classes are held on Sundays.
