Young people in Perth and Kinross have achieved well across a range of measures in their exams in 2019, with early indications that candidates have sustained good performances in many areas.
Pupils in Perth and Kinross were awarded 2300 National 4 awards achieving an 85% pass rate and 5900 National 5 awards achieving an 80% pass rate. In addition, 44% of S4 pupils achieved 5 or more awards at National 5 level, the second highest level seen in recent years.
At Higher (SCQF Level 6) qualifications, pupils in Perth and Kinross were awarded 3200 passes achieving a 76% pass rate, while at Advanced Higher (SCQF Level 7) there were 580 passes across our schools, with a pass rate of 77%. For those completing their S6 year, the number attaining 1, 3 or 5 or more Highers sustains the encouraging levels seen in recent years.
Lifelong Learning Convener, Councillor Caroline Shiers said: “I am delighted for the pupils in Perth and Kinross who will be celebrating today as they receive their exam results. So much hard work has gone into achieving to their fullest, supported by teachers, parents and carers, and I hope they are as proud of their successes as we are. Congratulations everyone!”
