Previously, the Prize VOIR inventors were awarded by the Academy of Sciences of the USSR since 1957 and was considered a prestigious award. Traditionally, the main inventive pageant countries are competing the authors of the best Russian projects with the greatest potential in the civilian sector of the economy.Liliya Gumerova noted that it is particularly important that broad participation of the Federation in the competition. In this year, there were 702 applications from 38 Russian regions. In 2019 qualifying round were 182 inventions of 702.
