With two position papers – both from the field of Digital Agenda – the CDU / CSU parliamentary group is taking a big step towards the future for Germany. And sets a benchmark for the future technology Blockchain. Likewise, framework conditions for a future-oriented promotion of startups are formulated.

Germany is already top in the subject of blockchain. But the opportunities that this technology brings to our country must be further developed and, above all, put into a reliable legal framework. Moreover: Germany is an important founding country. In order to keep pace with developments in the field of digitization, start-ups need good framework conditions to implement innovative ideas and to grow with their start-up. The Union Group is therefore committed to a comprehensive startup promotion.

Reasons and growth – promoting startups

Startup promotion starts with the appreciation of creative people who, with courage and risk-taking, implement their own ideas and develop innovative products and services. And that includes failure. “Our society must establish a culture of second chance and give failed founders new perspectives,” says Marc Biadacz, rapporteur for the topic of startups in the group working group on Digital Agenda. The Union faction has taken up the cause to promote the founding culture and overcome obstacles to the founding process.

Strengthen the competitiveness of startups

In addition, the framework conditions in the growth phase of a start-up are to be improved, for example by the creation of regulatory experimentation rooms, in which not every rule must be respected. In addition, future tax, labor and insolvency law adjustments should facilitate the work of startups. Likewise, the goal must be to create an overall climate that is conducive to financing and also to strengthen the international competitiveness of young companies. Startups need a “solid ecosystem to finance their growth,” says Tankred Schipanski, spokesman for the Union’s Digital Policy.

Blockchain – technology of the future

“This is not just about Bitcoin,” notes Nadine Schön, vice-president responsible for digital policy. But also to topics such as digital securities, digital corporations to notar-certified digital identities. All innovations that Germany wants to continue to successfully advance as the first and leading country. The Union faction made with their paper an important first serve, give an “impulse towards the Federal Government,” said Nadine Schön. The German government will then have to react to this surcharge with its planned blockchain strategy. Tankred Schipanski also emphasized the importance of the paper, which was used to “set standards and export them internationally”.

Thomas Heilmann, the rapporteur for Blockchain in the Digital Agenda working group, emphasized that the legal framework for blockchain technology must be clearly defined as an essential prerequisite for its acceptance, not only in the domestic economy but also in the domestic economy foreign investors. The position paper that has to be filmed here is made clear by the position paper in which, alongside the digital politicians, the law and finance politicians Heribert Hirte and Matthias Hauer in particular also worked together.
