International rescue emergency response exercises in the Balkan region will start in Serbia. Within the framework of the Serbia-2019 fire and rescue services, experts of the VNII GOCHS EMERCOM of Russia will test six historical and social sites of the city of Nis using the Struna mobile complex. The check will start from the city hall building. This building was built more than a hundred years ago, so the object is quite difficult to study. Then on turn various social objects, above all, schools and kindergartens.

Serbia is a seismic country, the city of Niš is located in the eight-point zone on the Mercale scale. It is necessary to check all these objects for seismic resistance, as far as they can withstand seismic loads.

The “String” technology is based on the method of dynamic geophysical testing of the “soil-structure” system, that is, sensors are placed and studies are being conducted. The method was previously tested several times in Europe, in particular, three times in Italy, as well as in Greece, Germany and Turkey. He received international approval at the European Commission on Seismology. After the study, research can be continued as part of the work of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center. The use of the String technology allows timely assessment of the seismic resistance of structures, seismicity of soils, assessment of the seismic resistance deficiency and safeguarding the residence and presence of people in the structures. Recall that 500 rescuers from seven countries — Russia, Serbia, Cuba, Bosnia and Herzegovina — take part in international exercises Northern Macedonia, Hungary and Turkey.
