Their reputation proceeds them as purveyors of the finest food offerings in the region…

Manchester Food and Drink Festival have compiled a truly mouth-watering selection of food traders for this year’s Manchester Day, including bars serving a selection of beers from the best Manchester breweries.

Manchester Day is as much about the food as it is celebrating this great city. And this year is no different with a gut-busting selection of incredible morsels to keep even the most peckish satisfied through the busy day of entertainment.

Everything from BBQ and fish and chips, to tastes of the far east and tapas, there will be something for everyone.

Bring an empty stomach as you may want to space your visits through the afternoon to try as much as possible between midday and 6pm, with stalls spread across St Ann’s Square, Cathedral Gardens and Exchange Square.

But don’t worry, there will be an equally brilliant offer when it comes to your liquid refreshment with some of Manchester’s finest beers on offer at each bar. If you’re not a beer lover, there’ll be wine and soft drinks available too.

Alexa Stratton-Powell, Festival Director of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, said:“We’re Manchester Day veterans by now and we love to support the event with help from some of the most mouth-watering street food purveyors the region has to offer. The cities food and drink scene is incredibly exciting at the moment and it’s events like these that give the people of Manchester the opportunity to try something new and – undoubtedly – tasty.”

Cllr Pat Karney, Chair of Manchester Day, said: “The Manchester Day food is almost as important as the parade! I could pick my way through the stalls all afternoon. As we know by now, the Manchester Day audience is a foodie bunch and we have some of the best. Make sure to take a light breakfast on Sunday 23 June – you’ll thank me for it.”

Manchester Day is on Sunday, 23 June from midday until 6pm. The parade begins at 1pm from Princess Street.
