The program included more than 20 paintings taken in Norway from 1910 to 2017.

In the Tretyakov Gallery kinopokazy start within exhibitions of works by Edvard Munch. The film screening program included films shot in Norway from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day – more than 20 tapes in total. They will be shown in the Engineering Building of the Tretyakov Gallery from May 15 to July 11.

The exhibition of works by the Norwegian expressionist presents 70 paintings and 30 graphic paintings, as well as photographs and memorial objects from the Munch Museum in Oslo and the AS Museum Pushkin.

“Roald Amundsen. Journey to the South Pole “(1910-1912) and” Daughter of the Revolution “(1918)

Documentary short film tells about the legendary expedition of the Norwegian discoverer Roald Amundsen to the South Pole. In June 1910, the schooner “Fram” sailed from Norway, and on January 25, 1912, Amundsen and his team returned to the main base with a triumph after a 99-day skiing trip with dog teams. The head of the expedition personally made sure that during the journey were shooting. Subsequently, he used these unique shots in his lecture tours.

Immediately after the adventures of Roald Amundsen, you will see an artistic tape about Norwegian metallurgists. In the center of the painting “The Daughter of the Revolution” Ottar Gladtvet is the personal drama of worker Albert Fjell, which unfolds against the background of global changes in society. He falls in love with the daughter of the director of the plant and must save her from his own comrades who go on strike and kill their former employer.

The Fruits of the Earth (1921)

The film “The Fruits of the Earth” by the director and actor Gunnar Sommerfeld is a free-screen version of the novel by Knut Hamsun. The first settlers, Isaac and Inger, together build a new farm on the land. Heroes overcome difficulties and always support each other. The action takes place against the backdrop of magnificent Norwegian landscapes.

“The Wedding Procession in Hardanger” (1926)

At the height of the mass emigration of the population from Norway, Marit Shelte is going to move to America. But at the last moment the girl decides to stay in order to be with her lover Anders Bjellan. They get engaged, but soon Anders leaves for several years and meets another. “The Great Baptism” (1931)

“The Great Baptism” by director Tancred Ibsen was the first Norwegian sound film. Folk comedy about lovers Alvilde and Harald, in whom a child born out of wedlock is born, enjoyed great success with the audience. The picture was based on the play of Oscar Braten.

“Bastard” (1940)

Swedish-Norwegian film “Bastard” tells the story of a hunter Amgan and his son Burtay. Before his death, the father reveals to his son the secret that his mother is not from their race, but from the peasants. Amgan urges Burtai to kill the peasant in himself and become a great hunter. The film directors are Helge Lunde and Gesta Stevens.

Kon-Tiki (1950)

Another Swedish-Norwegian film. The great Norwegian traveler Thor Heyerdal became famous across the Pacific Ocean on the Kon-Tiki raft, and then made a documentary about his voyage. The picture received an Oscar. So the famous traveler became also a famous director.

“Just one life. The Story of Fridtjof Nansen (1968)

The Soviet-Norwegian film covers three episodes of the life of Nansen: an expedition to the North Pole, diplomatic activity in the League of Nations, and a mission to rescue the starving Volga region. Directed by Sergey Mikaelyan.

Olsen’s Gang (1969)

“Inheritance” (1979)

A successful entrepreneur dies a childless widower. Relatives come together to divide the inheritance. However, things are not so simple. To get it, they will have to fulfill certain conditions.

In 1979, the film “Inheritance” participated in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival and received Ecumenical (Christian) Jury Prize.

“Under the stone sky” (1974)

In the autumn of 1944, contrary to the order of the Hitlerite command to evacuate to the south, the inhabitants of the Norwegian town of Kirkenes took refuge in an abandoned mine. The command of the Red Army becomes aware of the intentions of the Nazis to blow up the old adits of the city. Soviet soldiers manage to prevent tragedy.

The picture was made by Soviet and Norwegian directors – Igor Maslennikov, known to Russian viewers from the films about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, and Knut Andersen. The main role was played by Yevgeny Leonov.

The Great Races (1975)

“And trees grow on stones” (1985)

Another tape about a young man who was captured. This time – to the Vikings. For courage and bravery the guy gets the name Einar Happy. Begins a new period in his life, full of adventure. But Einar’s sole desire is to return home.

The picture was shot by Soviet and Norwegian directors Stanislav Rostotsky and Knut Andersen. The main roles were performed by Alexander Timoshkin and Petronella Barker.

Eggs (1995)

Brent Hamer painting in 1995 participated in the Moscow International Film Festival. According to the plot, two elderly brothers live in a deaf Norwegian village – Mu and Father. Their monotonous life changes with the advent of Conrad, the son of one of the brothers. Between the brothers no longer idyll.

Hamsun (1996)

This is the story of the famous Norwegian writer Nobel laureate Knut Hamsun, who is considered one of the most mysterious personalities of the 20th century, and his wife Marie, a woman who sacrificed everything to be with her beloved. The role of Hamsun played a Swedish actor Max von Sydow, known for his works from Ingmar Bergman. The film was shot by Jan Truel.

North (2009)

In the comedy road movie director Rune Denstad Langlo tells the story of former professional skier Jomar. The athlete survived a nervous breakdown and has since withdrawn into himself. But one day Yomar learns that maybe he has a son. He decides to go on a perilous journey north to visit his ex-girlfriend and look at the child. The tape won the FIPRESCI prize in the Panorama program at the Berlinale in 2009.

Reprise (2006)

Heroes “Reprise” Eric and Phillip are young and ambitious. They both want to become writers, but publishers refuse Eric, while Phillip’s manuscript is rated very high. The young author in an instant becomes the main event on the Norwegian cultural scene, but he falls ill and finds himself in a psychiatric clinic.

“The choice of the king” (2016)

In the center of the plot of the military drama – the events of the three tense days of April 1940. German invaders put a hard ultimatum to the Norwegian king: capitulation or death. The royal family is forced to flee, its members decide to split up, not knowing if they will ever see each other again.
