The seller of a round-the-clock grocery store of the village of Anastasievskaya reported the attack to the duty unit of the MIA of Russia Division for the Slavyansky District. The woman explained to the police that an unknown man had entered the trading floor and, threatening with an object similar to a gun, demanded for the money from the cash register. The woman gave the attacker the proceeds of the trade outlet in the amount of 20 thousand rubles, after which he disappeared in an unknown direction.
Police officers who had arrived at the scene interviewed possible eyewitnesses, examined the recordings of surveillance cameras located in the sales area, as well as in the area where the crime had been committed, and made a reference to the search for the suspect, which they circulated to all duty-crews.
During the operational-search activities, the police detained on suspicion of committing the crime, a 37-year-old resident of a CIS country at the place of his temporary residence, where they discovered an air rifle. For further investigation, the man was taken to the police division.
It was established that the offender managed to spend the stolen money for personal needs.
Currently, the Investigative Division of the MIA of Russia Division for the Slavyansky District has initiated a criminal case against the suspect on the grounds of the crime provided for by part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. This article presumes a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years. Placement to custody was selected as the preventive measure for the detainee. The investigation is underway.
