Officers of the Criminal Investigation Group of the Police Linear Division at the Chusovskaya Station (Perm Linear Division on Transport of the Russian MIA) identified and detained two local residents who committed thefts of railway property.
On January 21, 2019, when checking operational information at one of the metal scrap receiving points of the city of Chusovoy, operational officers of the Police Linear Division at the Chusovskaya station revealed the fact that the stolen railway parts, 21 diesel batteries, had been sold as metal scrap. A part of the stolen property was seized by operatives from the metal receiving point.
On the same day, a complex of operational search activities was carried out, and during the following 24 hours two residents of the town of Chusovoy, born in 1983 and 1995, were identified and detained, who during December 2018 had been delivering diesel batteries to the same receiving point.
During the audit, it was established that the detainees were employees of the service locomotive depot in the city of Chusovoy, and that they knew each other well. One of the friends suggested another one to steal batteries that had been stored at the depot. Several times, during December 2018, at the end of the work shift, the offenders dragged batteries first to shower cabins, and then, during the change of the guard shifts, carried the stolen items from the depot territory and put them in the trunks of their personal vehicles. Later, in the evening, they took out the stolen goods and handed them over to the metal scrap receiving point. The obtained money was divided and spent on their own needs. In total, they managed to steal and subsequently sell to receiving points batteries worth more than 124,000 rubles.
At present, the Investigative Division of the Perm Linear Division on Transport of the MIA of Russia has initiated five criminal cases against the detainees on the grounds of the crime provided for by paragraph “a” of part 2 of Article 158 of the RF Criminal Code.
