On February 1, in Stavropol, on the basis of Fire and Rescue Unit 8, an event popularizing the firefighter profession was held. More than 100 boys and girls from different schools of the city got acquainted with the conditions of combat duty and the life of firefighters.

The event began with a visit to the museum of the Main Department of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Stavropol Territory. Great interest among schoolchildren was caused by rare exhibits, as well as objects collected in the museum from real fires.

Then the students watched an information film about the Academy of the State Fire Service EMERCOM of Russia. This is one of the oldest educational institutions in the country, which trains specialists in the field of fire safety, protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made threats.

In the practical part, the children were shown the fulfillment of the “Dressing up fire fighting clothing” standard, methods of working with a rescue rope and familiarized schoolchildren with the fire and rescue equipment used by the unit. The culmination of the event was the extinguishing of a conventional fire using primary fire extinguishing agents.
