The team of the special forces brigade from the Samara region won the home championship of the Central Military District in army hand-to-hand combat, which took place at the base of the sports complex Chernorechye of the Central Army Sports Club (CSKA) in the Roshchinsky garrison.
The second and third places were taken respectively by teams of the Novosibirsk Special Forces and the 14th Army of the Air Force and air defense. Winners and prize winners received cups, medals and valuable gifts.
In total, more than 150 athletes took part in the competition, representing 20 teams from military units and formations deployed in the Urals, Volga and Siberia. Athletes competed in seven weight categories.
Army hand-to-hand combat is a military-applied sport, which in the 70s of the twentieth century, on the initiative of specialists from special forces, became the main discipline for training the survival of a fighter in combat conditions during a hand-to-hand combat.
