Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, is going to Senegal today. He will take part in the “test walk” of the Regional Express Train (TER) linking Dakar to Diamniadio . This project is emblematic of the bilateral relationship between France and Senegal: France thus co-financed the TER of € 330 million, or 30% of the project. The TER is intended to accompany the emergence of the new city of Diamniadio and will eventually carry more than 100,000 passengers per day. He will meet with the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, and with the Minister of the economy and finance, Amadou Ba, to take stock of our bilateral relations and our main trade. These exchanges will be an opportunity to reiterate the French commitment to Senegal, after the announcement to the Donors Advisory Group in December, a contribution of 1.5 billion euros over five years (2019-2023). The Secretary of State will also visit the Museum of Black Civilizations (CMN). This museum, desired in the late 1960s by President Léopold Sedar Senghor and inaugurated last December, opens new avenues for cultural cooperation between our two countries. A partnership agreement has already been concluded between the CMN and the Quai Branly Museum.
