Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a fatal fail to stop collision in Lambeth.
Police were called at 00:30hrs on Saturday, 12 January to Brixton Hill, junction with Dumbarton Road, following reports a car in collision with a pedestrian.
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Despite their best efforts the pedestrian, a female aged in her early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the vehicle, which was travelling at speed, did not stop at the scene and enquiries are underway to trace it.
The vehicle is believed to be a dark coloured VW, possibly a Golf, which may have sustained damage to the bonnet.
