Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State, have appointed Jean-François Loiseau federator of the priority family for export for agribusiness. federators for the export allows to establish a partnership between the State and a personality of the private sector to communicate and federate a sectoral offer for foreign markets. The scheme covers the agri-food, renewable energy, cultural and creative industries, health and sustainable cities sectors.Mr. Loiseau, who is a farmer, president of the Axéréal cooperative and president of the interprofessional organization of the cereals sector Intercéréales, will have the mission to participate in the constitution of a team France to the export in order to develop collective approaches and identify solutions to improve the performance of agricultural and agri-food businesses internationally. It will liaise closely with the agri-food sector strategic committee of the National Council of Industry. His mandate will also focus on implementing the conclusions of the General State Foods export workshop, chaired by Mr. Loiseau. The agricultural and agri-food sector represents 3.5% of our country’s GDP and the third largest surplus our trade balance, at 5.5 billion euros in 2017. France is the sixth largest agri-food exporter in the world but faces increasing competition. Export is a key growth driver for companies in the sector and a major lever for economic development and job creation throughout France.
