The last ice season ended in most parks on March 11, but in eight recreation areas the skating rinks worked until April 1.

About 1,5 thousand skating rinks with artificial turf and natural ice will be opened in Moscow. This was announced by Sergey Sobyanin on his page in “Twitter”.

This winter almost 1.5 thousand artificial and natural ice rinks will open in the capital. Remember how great it was last year?

Last year, 1,25,000 ice rinks with natural ice and 125 with artificial turf worked in the city. They were visited over two million people. The ice season in most of the parks ended on March 11, but the weather allowed us to extend the work of some rinks until mid-March, and in eight recreation areas – until April 1. One of the brightest events was the Night on the Skating Rink, which was held in 17 parks on March 7.

The largest area for ice skating traditionally appears on ENEA. The ice cover area in the winter season of 2017/2018 amounted to more than 20 thousand square meters. At the same time almost five thousand people could ride here.

In 2016, the World Records Academy (World Record Academy) officially recognized the skating rink at VDNH the biggest rink with artificial turf in the world.
