Today in the Russian MIA, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov held a meeting with Deputy Chief of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Abdul Kadir.
In his words of greeting, Igor Zubov noted that the relations between Russia and Indonesia are based on the long-term partnership and cooperation and will be further developed in the spirit of mutual respect.
“The law enforcement bodies of our countries are carrying out long-term and mutually beneficial work. I would like to stress that the chiefs of the Russian and Indonesian competent agencies carry out consultations on a regular basis,” said the State Secretary – Deputy Minister.
Igor Zubov emphasized that an essential element of the collaboration between the two states is the work for coordinating the draft Agreement between the Governments of Russia and Indonesia on cooperation in international cybersecurity.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the main areas of joint efforts in combating terrorism and extremism. The Russian party having significant achievements in fighting the spread of the extremist ideology and suppressing illegal armed groups is ready to share its experience with the Indonesian colleagues. In this regard, the parties expressed their interest in intensification of information exchange, including through the Interpol.
In the course of the discussion, the parties also reviewed problems of illegal drug trafficking caused by new psychoactive substances. To consolidate their efforts, the two countries are currently devising the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Russian MIA and the National Counter-Terrorism Agency of the Republic of Indonesia.
At the end of the meeting, Igor Zubov invited the Indonesian colleagues to take part in the workshop for officers of the law enforcement bodies of the ASEANAPOL member states to be held this November at the Moscow University of the Russian MIA.
