Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Comstock released the following statement after she voted for, and the House passed, H.R. 6237, the Matthew Young Pollard Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 2018 and 2019: “
Today I voted for H.R. 6237, the Matthew Young Pollard Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 2018 and 2019. This important legislation funds our Intelligence community and provides them the resources they need to effectively defend our nation. With the ongoing cyber threats that threaten our nation daily, it is increasingly important to ensure our cyber capabilities are globally competitive, and our national security programs are impenetrable. This legislation invests in employees with specific cyber skills by increasing the pay of those involved with critical cyber missions and keeps critical energy infrastructure fully defended. Also included in this legislation is increased intelligence oversight and accountability, as well as increased defenses against foreign threats to our election systems.
“This legislation makes sure that the dedicated men and women who serve our nation in the Intelligence Community are fully equipped to fulfill their mission.”
