Headline: Aleksandr Gorovoy visited Kaliningrad on working trip
First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Police Colonel-General Aleksandr Gorovoy visited Kaliningrad to check the preparedness of the police for law and order protection at the coming 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Aleksandr Gorovoy checked the progress of the reconstruction of the Khrabrovo international airport. That transport infrastructure facility of the region will bear the major load of accepting players and multiple spectators of the coming large sports event. He examined the premises of the duty unit of the Linear Police Division under construction and discussed work issues with Chief of the Western Linear Administration for Transport of the Russian MIA Police Colonel Igor Astrakhantsev and Director General of the airport Aleksandr Korytny.
Visiting of the Kaliningrad stadium under construction was the next item on the First Deputy Minister’s work trip plan. Aleksandr Gorovoy held a working meeting with Chief of the Russian MIA Administration for the Kaliningrad Region Police Colonel Igor Illarionov, the management of the construction company and representatives of the private security company where the parties discussed measures to ensure anti-terrorist security and safety of the audience.
Then Aleksandr Gorovoy and Igor Illarionov met with Commander-in-Chief of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy Vice Admiral Aleksandr Nosatov and Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov. In the course of the meeting, the participants considered issues of accommodation of policemen who will arrive to the region to assist in law and order protection during the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches.
The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Gorovoy highly praised the progress of the preparations for the world football championship in Kaliningrad.
