Two men have been arrested following a pursuit at Salisbury this morning.

Just before 4am on Sunday 14 May police spotted a blue Holden sedan acting suspiciously on Commercial Road.

The patrol attempted to stop the car but the driver refused to stop and the car was pursued for a short time before it pulled into a unit block on Jarvis Road at Elizabeth Vale.

The driver of the car ran off but was quickly apprehended by patrols. As the driver had exited the car, a passenger in the rear seat jumped into the driver’s seat and attempted to reverse, colliding with the front of a police car and causing minor damage. The passenger was soon arrested as well.

Elizabeth police were informed that the same car had been involved in an earlier hit run accident on James Condon Drive at Mile End just before 3.30am. There were no reported injuries.

The two men are currently being interviewed by police and are expected to be charged later this morning.
