Headline: Appeal to trace man who absconded from a Lewisham mental health unit

Police in Lewisham Borough are appealing to trace a man who has absconded from a mental health unit.

Michael Taylor, 40 (12/07/1976), left The Ladywell Unit at University Hospital Lewisham, Lewisham High St, SE13 at around 1420hrs on Saturday, 13 May and was last seen getting into a white estate mini-cab in Lewisham High Street at around 1435hrs.

Officers are concerned as Taylor suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and requires medication that he does not have with him.

Taylor is described as a light skinned black man; around 6ft tall with a medium build and long dreadlocked black hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark coloured hooded top with gold, green and black colours down the arm, jeans and black trainers with white soles.

Taylor has links to the Catford and Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham areas.

Anyone who sees Taylor is urged not to approach him but call 999.
