News item release date: Wednesday, 7 December 2016
The festive season can be a tough time of year for many residents, but help is not far away.
The ASK Expo (Access, Services and Knowledge) is a free event for residents to access and use a broad array of community services and supports on offer in Hobsons Bay.
“Many community organisations, government agencies and Hobsons Bay City Council have come together to put on this event and invite residents to access a range of free services and support programs being offered in our community,” Mayor of Hobsons Bay Councillor Sandra Wilson said.
“This is a one-stop shop to speak to a range of different agencies and organisations in person and gain one on one support and advice tailored to your situation.”
The A.S.K. Expo is an initiative of the Hobsons Bay Interagency Network, a network of community agencies, service providers and volunteers who collaborate to improve services to the community.
Rhonda Collins, Manager of youth services organisation Latitude and Chair of the Interagency Network said the A.S.K Expo is an opportunity for the agencies of the network to share their services, programs and activities with the community.
“Hobsons Bay is a vibrant community, the expo highlights this and we encourage the community to come and be a part of it.”
Over 30 organisations will be present at the event including the Department of Human Services, Department of Justice, Anglicare Victoria, Laverton Integrated Services, No Interest Loan Scheme and many others.
